34 Weeks

34 weeks along...can you believe it? It feels as though it was just yesterday that we found out that our family will be doubling in size. Sure brings a whole new meaning to the verse "Be fruitful and multiply..." (Genesis 1:28). We're not just adding, we're multiplying. :)

Yesterday (August 7th) I had yet another non-stress test done. Both babies are continuing to do great! I also had an ultrasound done to see what position the babies were in...good news, they are both head down now. We're praying that the babies have gotten the desire to flip out of their systems. Anyway, all looks great. My blood pressure is staying in a good range. I haven't started to dilate yet. And both babies have been given 2 thumbs up from the Doctor. At this rate it looks like we will make it to 36 weeks (or beyond). That sure would be an answer to our prayers.

My next non-stress test is next Wednesday (August 13th) at 10:00am. I will be 35 weeks along on Monday! YAY! Thank you LORD! He sure has been good and faithful to carry us through this pregnancy.

4am Feeding

So it's 4am in the morning and I'm awake, eating my first breakfast. I've been tossing and turning since 3am mostly due to hunger, a few contractions and a bathroom run. I would consider this phase of pregnancy, "Training". I've been getting up every few hours and sleeping very little when I do hit my pillow. I get up maybe 3-5 times during the night to use the bathroom. If it isn't a run to the bathroom then it's acid reflux waking me or hunger, like this morning. But in the midst of all the trips to the bathroom, the tossing and turning, and the 4am feedings (for me), I sure love being pregnant with these two little ones. I realize that we're just days away from having two little ones to hold and to feed at 4am...."CRAZY" - that's all I have to say about that.

Update: We've had 2 non-stress tests done so far and all looks good. We have another one this Thursday (7th) at 3:30pm. I have been having more contractions, they're getting more noticeable, but nothing that has caused us to rush to the hospital...yet. We're hoping to make it at least to August 18th, that means just two weeks to go! But maybe longer, maybe shorter, we really don't know! Whatever day these babies do arrive on, we're praying they are healthy, strong and that both are able to come home right away, regardless of what hospital they are born at.

Thanks for your prayers for all 4 of us. We appreciate it!

Nursery Pictures

Well the nursery is finished! We're ready (I hope) for the arrival of Joshua and Saray!
The only thing that will have to wait is hanging pictures on the wall. My plan is to take artistic pictures of the twins and have them hung on the walls in the nursery.

Update: We had a non-stress test done this morning. Both babies were active and
their heart rates were good. I had a few mild contractions, but nothing to worry about. We'll have a non-stress test done again next Friday, and each week after that until the babies arrive.

32 weeks

Today we had another ultrasound done to see how well the babies are doing. Both babies are about 4 lbs 3 oz! They are growing very well. Currently, both Joshua and Saray are transverse, no longer head down, but we're praying that they will flip once again into the head down position.

Joshua wouldn't show us his face today, but we did get to see his cute feet. We could see Saray's face rarely well.
The tech could tell that Joshua now has hair Last time she could only see hair on Saray's head.
We can't wait to meet these little ones!

I have another doctor's appt tomorrow morning at 9:30. We' not sure if I'll have a non-stress test done tomorrow or not, if not this week, then next week.
But since I have been having more braxton hicks, I am
betting she'll want to start paying closer attention.

That's it for now...enjoy the pictures!

Camping Trip

This past weekend Jer and I went camping at Hart Ranch in Rapid City with my parents, Alli, Jesse, Jansen and the twins (in utero). My parents brought their camper so we didn't have to stay in our tent. Generally I love tent camping, but the idea of crawling into a tent and sleeping on an air mattress just doesn't seem like fun at 30 & 1/2 weeks pregnant.

The last night camping was a little rough. I was dealing with acid reflux/heartburn all night long. But as I laid there trying to get comfortable and trying to get some sleep, I realized just how grateful I am. I wasn't really grateful about the acid reflux, but I was grateful that my babies were the main cause of the acid reflux and also the countless trips to the bathroom that night. I just laid there with a smile on my face most of the night as my babies made my belly shimmer and shake, which made my belly turn into all sorts of funny shapes. How blessed I am to have two healthy, squirmy babies growing inside. I truly am enjoying every moment, even if it comes with some acid reflux. Being awake during their active hours sure made me smile and in the midst of it I found myself falling deeper in love with these two babies of mine.

Update

We had another doctor appt this morning. All is going great! My blood pressure and such look good. We did have an ultrasound, although since they are getting so big, the doctor was unable to get any pictures of Joshua and Saray. She was able to tell us that Joshua is still head down, but Saray is now breech. Just two weeks ago, they were both head down. How in the world do they move in that cramped space?! We're praying she becomes head down again.
I have another ultrasound to measure their growth on July 24th at 10am. We'll see if the Tech can get any pictures. We'll just have to wait and see.

Since I haven't had any contractions which is good. My next appt will be in two weeks instead of one week. We'll start having one visit a week starting at 32 weeks. They will also start monitoring the babies using non-stress tests. They'll do that once a week, unless I start to have contractions regularly, if that happens then we'll have two non-stress tests in a week. We're getting close!!

That's the latest! Sorry no pictures.

30 Weeks!

I can hardly believe that I am at 30 weeks now, it just doesn't seem possible. I feel as though it was just yesterday that I was taking a pregnancy test and getting that positive sign. And now here we are just days away from meeting our little ones! *Gulp* This is not a dream, this is really happening!

Oh I have to tell this story...
The last few months I have been looking around for a double stroller. At first I was just gonna get a "Snap-N-Go" stroller frame, where you snap the car seats directly into it. But then I realized that Graco has a double stroller that works with the car seats we have, plus you can use it once the kids have outgrown their carseats. I figured that I would have to spend about $60 more to upgrade from the "Snap-N-Go" frame to the Graco stroller, but in the end it would be saving us lots of $$. Anyway, the other day Jer and I went to Rapid City, we slipped over to Toys R Us to see if they had the Graco stroller that I had been looking at online. We wanted to see how it worked, looked, etc. Generally this stroller is around $150. We noticed that this stroller had been marked down from $149 to $129. Not bad, but I wasn't to quick to jump at the deal. Then Jer realized that there was a $20 off coupon for stollers over $99, so that would make the stroller $109. Now that's a better deal! So we decided we just couldn't pass it up. We check out and for some reason it rings up much cheaper then the $109, we got it for $85.00! Along with the $20 off, it was also 20% off! What a DEAL! We couldn't believe it! We saved over $60! Plus, the Graco stroller cost less then if we had gotten a "Snap-N-Go" frame.
Oh, earlier that day we had gotten a $75 check from Jer's Dad & Rose. So basically we only had to pay $10! What a huge blessing from God!! :)
