Ultrasound from 5-29-08

Ultrasound from today's visit.

24 & 1/2 weeks

Today we got to see our little Joshua and little Saray. They sure have grown since the first time we saw them at 7 & 1/2 weeks. They were pretty relaxed during the ultrasound. But wow, this morning they sure were active, I guess they wore themselves out. Overall, they are looking good! Yay! Thank you, Lord!
Our next appt is in 2 weeks, on June 12th.

Baby Names

A lot of people have been asking if we have names picked out for Baby A and Baby B. Our answer is yes. I decided to go ahead and share the names we decided on.

For our baby boy - Joshua James -
How we came up with his name: A cousin of mine passed away a year ago and his name was Josh. We decided to honor him and his family and name our boy after him. We called up my Aunt, Uncle and Josh's sister and asked them if they would be okay with us honoring Josh in that way. They were very excited and thought it was a great way to honor Josh. Our baby boy's middle name is after our first son Isaiah's middle name (Isaiah went to be with Jesus in Nov of '06) and also in honor of my Grandpa Jim Christensen.

For our baby girl - Saray Anne -
How we came up with her name: Shortly after Jer and I got married we started discussing names for our future children. At the time we couldn't really decide on any names that both of us liked. We ended up meeting a lady while we lived out in Idaho, her name was Saray. The moment we saw and heard the name we both liked it. So we mentioned to the lady a month or so later that we loved her name. She then processed to ask us if we were gonna do something about it. Our response was (of course) yes. She was excited that we wanted to use her name and then gave us her blessings. So for nearly 4 years now, Jer and I have waited to have a girl so we could name her Saray. Her middle name just fit. Plus part of the love of her middle name came from all the years of watching "Anne of Green Gables", so with that in mind, it had to be Ann with an "e".

So there you have it...they have names now...Joshua James and Saray Anne :)

Nursery

Jer and I have been busy getting the nursery ready for our two little ones. We are so excited to see it coming together. We decided on natural colored wood furniture and brown, tan pink/blue bedding. We have one dresser and two cribs put together so far. There is one more dresser to be assembled. I still need to look for a glider for the nursery. The only thing we can't really decide on is the paint and decor. I guess we still have some time to make a decision, but before we know it our time will be up and these two little babies of ours will be here. Every now and then, Jer and I both slip into the nursery, walk around and daydream a little about the days that await us.

With each kick, jab and flip, our hearts melt all over again and we fall more and more in love with our precious babies. We truly are enjoying every moment. Every evening we fall asleep with our hands on my belly, feeling them move...What sweet contentment. :)

Growing Belly

It's amazing to see how much my belly has grown in 5 week (16 weeks to 21 weeks). When I look at my belly I don't really notice the growth until I look at pictures. I truly am enjoying every moment.

The babies are getting stronger each week. I have noticed more movement, especially when I lay down for the night. Jeremiah loves feeling them move. Sometimes the babies stop moving as soon as he puts his hand on my belly, but most of the time it seems as though they are willing to show off, even for Dad.

We had a doctor appt this afternoon. We got to hear our babies' hearts via a Doppler. Normally we have an ultrasound but since one of the two doctors is on maternity leave, we had to settle for a quick appt as the doctor was a little swamped. Oh, I got measured today...first time during this pregnancy; my belly measured at 26 weeks, and I am 21 weeks along. Getting bigger!! :)
Our next appt is May 29th.
