2 Month Wellness Check up

The kiddos had a doctor appt today, not one I was really looking forward to, mostly due to them having to get their first set of shots. Both Joshua and Saray were very brave when they got their shots. They both wailed and held their breath (breathe, child, breathe!) but settled down within moments - thank goodness! It always breaks my heart when they cry that hard.
On a different note: Joshua now weighs 8lbs 13oz and is 20 inches long. Just 20 days ago he weighed 7lbs 2 oz! Way to go, kid! Saray now weighs 9lbs and is 22 & 1/4 inches long. She weighed 8lbs 20 days ago. They sure are growing and changing.

8 weeks old

I was looking at the photo album of all the ultrasound pictures of Joshua and Saray just the other day and just began to cry, not tears of sorrow (like before), but tears of joy. God has fulfilled the desire of my heart and kept his promises. He Word does NOT return void!
I couldn't help but remember how I felt during those 9 months, the excitement, fear, wonder, and so much more. I constantly wondered what they would look like, what kind of personalities they would have, how labor and delivery would be, etc. So much waiting was involved, but now here I am 2 months in to having my babies here in my home and arms. Wow! Sometimes I feel as though I am living a dream, thinking "Could I really be a Mommy to two beautiful, healthy babies?!" Wow, I am completely overwhelmed! God is truly amazing. There is so much joy and thankfulness that wells up from within me. My words can't even begin to explain it all....so I'll just stop here. Maybe later I'll find the words to explain my heart.

Here are some pictures of the kiddos from this past week.

7 weeks old

Joshua and Saray are growing so fast! Saray is beginning to coo; listening to her "talk" just melts my heart. Both Joshua and Saray are smiling more and more. Their personalities are really starting to become more noticeable. Saray is quite spunky, squirmy and very friendly. Joshua is pretty laid back until he's hungry, than he really lets it be known.
This past week we've noticed that Joshua is really starting to put on the weight. How much, that is uncertain at this point, but all we know is that he is catching up to his sister. Saray is just all length, her arms and legs are super long. She is outgrowing all her newborn clothes and some of the 0-3 month clothes. Where Joshua on the other hand can still fit into some of his preemie pants but is into newborn tops and onesies. He has shorter legs and a longer torso...so far he still shorter than Saray. It's hard not to see the differences between Joshua and Saray. Their body types, their face shapes, head shapes, mouths, noses, hands, toes, etc...Everything about these two little people is completely different. It just points out that God creates everything and everyone special and unique.

Well I need to sign off...Joshua and Saray are both crying and I am home alone. Until next time...enjoy all the pictures.

Weekend with the Pojar Family

This weekend Joshua and Saray got to meet their Grandpa Jerry, Grandma Rose and Auntie Maddie and Cal (the dog) for the first time. The kiddos sure liked to study these new faces, you could just see them soaking in every feature of their faces. Joshua and Saray enjoyed snuggling/sleeping in the arms of their Grandpa, Grandma or Auntie Maddie.
Everyone was sure busy this weekend, Rose did a ton of cooking for us, Jerry helped Jer winterize our house and Maddie snuggled the kiddos and I spent most of my time feeding babies. We managed to make it out the house, amazingly. We decided to enjoy the beautiful Autumn weather by going on a walk through Spearfish City Park and Fish Hatchery. We couldn't have asked for a better weather this weekend. We loved showing off our beautiful town and our beautiful kiddos.

Here are some pictures from the weekend...Enjoy!

6 weeks old

Joshua and Saray are 6 weeks old...wow!! The past 6 weeks have been a blur, days are hard to separate from each other. Even in the midst of the blur and craziness, the joy is overwhelming.

This past weekend Saray and Joshua both ended up catching colds. What a bummer! It is so hard to see them sick and struggling, but they sure are troopers. Even in the midst of not feeling good they smile, as if reassuring mommy and daddy that they will be just fine.

Enjoy the new pictures!

5 weeks old

Joshua and Saray had their one month check up on the 29th. They sure are growing! Joshua is now 6 lbs 11 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He was 4 lbs 9 oz and 17 1/2 inches long when we left the hospital on the 1st of Sept. Saray now weighs 7 lbs 11 oz and is 20 inches long. She was 5 lbs 4 oz and 18 inches long when we brought her home. My how they have grown this past month!

They sure make us smile and laugh a lot. During this past week both Joshua and Saray have started to smile - I love it! It makes even the longest day or night seem so bearable.

Here are a few new pictures...
