37 Weeks and Counting

Yesterday I reached the milestone of 37 weeks!  Yay!  Now it's just a matter of time before baby Grayson arrives.  A handful of people have voted that Grayson will arrive early; I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  I have been having quite a few contractions each day, but nothing that has caused me to say, "it's time."

Oh good news, Grayson has moved into the head down position without having to be forced.  Currently, he is sitting a little sideways, but hopefully he'll settling into the "birthing position" soon and stay that way.

I am trying to enjoy each day with the twins and the ease of only have two kids and no nursing schedule.  It's hard to imagine what our lives will be in a month from now.  I am sure there will be lots of chaos and lots of nursing while trying to deal with two busy, needy toddlers.  I just pray that God gives us all a little more patience and content hearts while we all make this transition.  But in the end, I have a sense that having 3 kids so close in age will in fact be worth it...Lord, just give me the grace to get through the crazy, busy days.

That's about it for now.  You'll have to watch the blog closely as we'll be sure to post the news shortly after baby Grayson arrives.

34 weeks along

Yesterday we met our friend Ches at the hospital to have another ultrasound done (it pays to have connections.)  Grayson's living conditions are becoming a little tight, so it was a little challenging for Ches to get many shots of him.  She did manage to get a few profile shots of Grayson's face.    Somehow, even with the cramped living conditions, he has managed to move enough to be in the breech position.  He was head down for the longest time; I guess he was tired of being in that position.  I am just hoping & praying that he moves again into the head down position before too much time passes.

It won't be long before he arrives!  It's a bit overwhelming to think about at times, but at the same time the excitement is growing and so is the to-do list.   Jer and I spent last Saturday preparing freezer meals so we won't starve after he arrives.  I am so glad we took the time to do all that cooking (we have 12 meals and 2 types of cookie dough sitting in the deep freezer).  It will save us from having to buy fast foods.  Besides food, everything else is almost ready; the nursery needs a little TLC, but all the big stuff in the nursery is done.  Clothes are sorted and put into his dresser, crib is up, curtains are hung.  I am just waiting on the crib skirt to arrive.

That's about it.

Watching Them Grow....

There are days where I am just absolutely amazed by how much the twins have grown.  They are no longer babies but little toddlers with very big hearts and big ideas. I love watching them grow up...

The latest thing I have noticed is that Saray is beginning to share a lot more with Joshua (thank goodness!); the other day she was asking for animal crackers, so after giving her a single cracker a few times, I finally decided to give her two at a time.  I watched her as she walked over to where Joshua was playing, she bent down and offered Joshua her extra animal cracker.  She proceeded to do this three times that day.  Amazing kiddo.   Saray is also beginning to say a lot of new words; she'll try and repeat things as you ask her to.  Her words (most of the time) are pretty clear and her speech seems to have a bit of accent (almost sounds like a Brooklyn accent).  Cracks me up.

I love how patient and gentle Joshua is; he is so patient with Saray, it amazes me.  There are times where he'll be playing with the push toy plane or the push lawnmower and Saray will come running up behind him and steal it right from under his nose, he rarely fusses and then continues on playing with some other toy.  Although there are times when he throws a big fit about Saray stealing something (and I totally don't blame him).  Overall, he is one patient kid and I am ever so thankful for that.

The twins are getting better at using spoons for cereal, but after about 5 minutes or so of using a spoon, they decide to go this route instead...

So ready for Spring and Summer so we can all get out and play...

31 Weeks

31 weeks along, 9 weeks to go...phew!  I am exhausted just thinking about how busy our lives will be after this little one comes; at the same time, my heart is overflowing with joy.  I never thought I would say "I have 3 kids under the age of two (well at least for a few months.)"  But before I know it, this will be something I think about, plan my life around and talk even more about.   God truly is honoring our requests regarding our "Double Portion", and for that I am in awe of and thankful for.  Children truly are a blessing from the Lord.

I had a Doctor appt yesterday; it was your usual OB prenatal appt: get weighed (I'm right on track with my weigh gain, and no you do not get to know how much I weigh, are you crazy?!!), pee in a cup, have belly measured (measuring at 32 weeks) and listen to baby's heartbeat (BPM: 140's).   Little baby boy is doing good!   We'll meet with the our other OB Doctor (we have two) in two weeks.  Before we know it, this little one will be here!

Anyway, I am falling behind in the picture department once again; it's been 5 weeks since my last belly picture.  I really need to have a new one taken.  Once that happens, I will be sure to post.  Until then, have a great week!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!

18 months

Somehow a whole year and a half has gone by since the twins were born.  I am now starting to understand why parents all over the globe say things like, "My kids grew up too fast..." and "Before I knew it, my baby was getting married."  Okay so maybe my kids are not getting married, and they haven't even started school yet, but I have a feeling that if I blink too much those things will take place before I know it and I will be saying those very words I just quoted.  But for now, I will sit back and enjoy these early years, even if they are super hectic...and baby #3 isn't even here yet...*gulp*

Speaking of Baby #3 - We had our 29 week check up yesterday; we had an ultrasound to check to see if the placenta had moved (I started out with placenta pervia..my placenta was close to my cervix).  After about 30 minutes and both of my OB Doctors ending up in the room to do the ultrasound, we finally got good news: the placenta has moved and everything else looked good.  Our little baby boy is doing good, he's a bit of a mover and a shaker.  He's going to fit in just fine.

Joshua has finally traded his crawling in for walking - Yay!  For about a month he walked only when we encouraged him to do so or he'd walk with his little hand in one of our hands.  Over the last week he has been walking on his own will.  Once he gathered enough confidence and balance, he just took off.   It won't be long before he is running right along Saray.  I have to say I am quite relieved to see him walking.  He looks so proud to be walking by myself.

Saray has reached that point of complete confidence in her walking skills.  She zooms around the toy covered floor totally bypassing every obstacles (some days there are several blocks, toy tools and books scattered just in the living room alone).   She often runs through the house and just squeals with delight. She loves being chased by Joshua, Daddy or myself.  She delights in fun. Oh, she LOVES to dance, and she's rather good.  I'll have to try and capture her dancing on video.

"What?  I wasn't eating the green crayon..."

1st time finger painting (well mostly finger paint tasting) At least I made the finger paint so it wasn't a big deal if they ate a little...

Yes, Saray was eating the finger paint too.

A favorite past time for the twins...turning the lights and fan on and off over and over again.

I love Saray's expression while she's trying to color

After a little coloring, Josh became much more interested in ripping the paper.
