Best of Both Worlds

We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday morning. What a fun time that was! We got to see our babies via a screen for nearly 2 hours! They are continuing to grow right on schedule with their due date, which is just awesome and an answer to prayer. We were also able to find out the gender of both babies!!! Baby A is a boy (100% positive) and Baby B is a girl (again 100% positive)!! We have pictures to prove it. I guess I'll post those, I wasn't going to, but some people just like to see the proof. See if you can tell the difference between the two.

Baby A, the boy, was very active the whole time, but we managed to get a shot of his face, at least the lower half as the placenta was a little in the way which made the picture blurry towards the top. Baby B, the girl, was shy and pretty mellow. She didn't really want us to see anything, her face or her gender, but we managed to get a few looks. Most of the time she had her hands moving in front of her face which made it difficult for the Technician to get a clear picture. Hopefully you'll be able to make out where the babies' faces really are.

Description of the 3D face shots:
Baby B's face is on the right of its picture, and her hand is up by her head on the right side. You can see the eye and you can kinda make out the chin and the forehead. Baby A has it's arms up by his face. You can clearly see the chin, a cheek bone, lips and an eye.

19 weeks Along

Here is the latest belly picture for those of you who love a constant update. Amazingly I hardly notice the growing belly, unless I look in the mirror or try and roll over in bed. It just seems so natural, like it's always been there. I've longed for this stage of my life, the sate of carrying our God-given children in my womb. What a precious gift from the Heavenly Father. Thank you Lord for such a wonderful gift. You really do know how to give great things to your children. Teach me to be more like you in this.

We've started planning the nursery. We ordered two natural colored wood cribs, (so far) one dresser/changing table, which is also the natural wood. I've decided on the colors as well; the main color will be chocolate suede with accents of tan and blue or pink depending on what the sex of the babies truly are. No Disney characters on the bedding, just simply modern. Currently, I have no idea what to do with the walls, for now they are white, they may stay white unless my mother and sister want to paint.

That's all for now. Our next ultrasound is less then a week away, Monday April 28th at 10am. Hoping the babies cooperate so we can get some good 3D pictures. I'll post another blog Monday sometime.

Til then...Bless the Lord your God who givest all.

Our Little Ones...

Our littles ones are doing so well. They have grown 2 inches in 2 weeks, so now they are 6 inches from head to bottom. We are now in new territory - Yahoo! Thank you Lord! With the growth of our two little ones means I am also growing a nice round bump. Jer says, "your belly seems as though it grows over night." I would have to agree.

We are starting to plan for the arrival of the twins; deciding on cribs and bedding, nursery decor, and also all the things we will need, like diapers, lots and lots of diapers. If we deliver at 36 weeks, we are now half way. We are praying and declaring that we will make it to that 36 week mark so that I can deliver the twins at the Spearfish Hospital. If we deliver before 36 weeks, then we have to deliver at the Rapid City Hospital which is 50 minutes away. And that also would mean the babies would more likely have to be in the NICU for a short time. So please be in prayer with us that the babies will come after the 36 week mark and that they will be around 5 lbs or more.

Here are the newest pictures of the twins. The first one is a picture of the tops of both of the babies' heads as they were head down that day. The other two pictures are profile views of each baby. Enjoy! I posted the ultrasound video clip at www.dropshots.com/cmchapeau

Loving Every Moment...

I'm so in love with these babies that are growing inside my womb. I can't even begin to explain the love. I have been taking the time to sing to them, play my piano, read baby books and the WORD to them. What a joy they bring to my life, even now. Jeremiah is already just a great daddy to them. He loves getting right up to my belly and talking to them, telling them stories. He looks forward to feeling them move. Oh yes, the movement...These last few weeks I have felt tapping (have I mentioned this?), what an exciting thing that is! It makes everything even more real. Baby A is below my belly button and generally taps me on the right side. Baby B is just below my rib cage, this one seems to just be all over the place.

We had another ultrasound yesterday (April 2nd.) It always moves me tears when I see the babies moving around and hearing their little hearts beating a mile a minute. Yesterday was especially special for my Mother as she came along for the Dr. appt. She was so excited to get to the babies active instead of just in still pictures.

Both Babies are doing great. They are now 4 inches long from head to butt, so you think there is 8 inches of baby, plus their legs, no wonder I have been able to feel them moving! They were both kicking and showing off for us. Baby A is supposedly a boy (we'll have this confirmed at the next two ultrasound this month). Baby B had its hand between its legs as if telling us "Sorry, you're not getting a look this time!" So it's still a mystery. Jer and I think it's a girl. What do you think? I am doing well also. I have now gained 15 lbs since the beginning; I gained 5lbs in 2 weeks! Excellent!

We have two more ultrasounds scheduled for the month of April; the next one will be on the 15th and then we have a 3D ultrasound on the 28th. Oh how fun and exciting!

God truly is in the process of healing hearts, mine included. Back in Nov of '06 we lost our first baby boy at 16 1/2 weeks along; it shattered our hearts into a million pieces. But God is able to take anything and fix it for nothing is impossible with them. Yesterday was the 16 1/2 week mark for this pregnancy; getting to see our two little babies moving and thriving brought such healing to my heart. Even when we don't understand why, God does. He sees the BIG picture when we only see in part. What a great God!

Jeremiah got a few video clips from the ultrasound, you can watch them at www.dropshots.com/cmchapeau.

16 weeks

What an exciting season of our lives. We can hardly believe all the blessings God has bestowed upon us. One thing I have prayed these last two years through all our heartache, is that God would use it all to bring glory to His name; He is doing just that. What an amazing, loving God we serve.
I am now wrapping my mind around the fact that these two babies are really going to arrive safe and sound. Yesterday that realization brought me to the point of tears...again what an amazing God. I just sat there and cried, completely in awe of God and his BIG, perfect plan for our lives.

I am now 16 weeks & 1 day along. This pregnancy has just been flying by. Tomorrow (April 2nd) we have another Dr. appt at 2:15 in the afternoon. We're hoping to find out the sexes of the babies. Praying that they cooperate. I'll post new ultrasound pictures by the end of this week, and hopefully some news.

That's about it for now. I'll post again soon.

What Joy!

We had another ultrasound this past Thursday (the 20th of March). I was 14 & 1/2 weeks along.
Both babies have grown about 1 & 1/2 inches in 3 weeks, so now they are about 3 & 1/2 inches long (crown to rump). What a joy they bring to our lives already.
Our next appt is April 2nd at 2:15pm.

Description of pictures:
Baby A is on the lower right hand side of the first picture. Baby A is facing forward. (This picture can be a little confusing as you can see part of Baby B in the upper left hand corner)

Baby B is face down in this picture.
You can see its whole body.
