Twins - 20 months old

Before long we will be celebrating Joshua and Saray's 2nd birthdays...I am not sure really how that is even possible, but its true and I am trying to wrap my mind around it.

We're embracing the talking stage with open arms; I love that we're able to communicate more clearly with each other.  Saray's vocabulary amazes me, she says a minimum of 100 words and is starting to put together two word sentences.  She often talks for Joshua, saying things like "Josh, cracker."  or "Josh, all done."  She is always looking out for Josh.  She wants him to have what she is currently having, even if it's means that his pajamas need to come off too.

Joshua is content to let Saray do most of the talking, so most of the time he just goes along with what she is saying or asking for.   There are times though where he will pipe up and speak for himself, like asking for juice, milk or raisins, etc.  They are so connected but at the same time they desire their own independence and with that comes a little frustration on all our parts.

We have been spending every nice moment outside (we really haven't had very many nice days yet); the kids absolutely love the park and playing outside in our own big backyard.   Saray asks for the park nearly every day, and if we happen to drive by a park without stopping to play, she lets me know that she is very unhappy with me.  We're so ready for warmer days...we bought season passes to the outdoor water park again this year, can't wait for the kids to experience the water park all over again.

Well, I better go, Saray is up from her nap and is letting me know by screaming (why oh why can't she just wake up happy....)..

Until later....enjoy the previous post with all the outdoor pictures from April.

37 Weeks and Counting

Yesterday I reached the milestone of 37 weeks!  Yay!  Now it's just a matter of time before baby Grayson arrives.  A handful of people have voted that Grayson will arrive early; I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  I have been having quite a few contractions each day, but nothing that has caused me to say, "it's time."

Oh good news, Grayson has moved into the head down position without having to be forced.  Currently, he is sitting a little sideways, but hopefully he'll settling into the "birthing position" soon and stay that way.

I am trying to enjoy each day with the twins and the ease of only have two kids and no nursing schedule.  It's hard to imagine what our lives will be in a month from now.  I am sure there will be lots of chaos and lots of nursing while trying to deal with two busy, needy toddlers.  I just pray that God gives us all a little more patience and content hearts while we all make this transition.  But in the end, I have a sense that having 3 kids so close in age will in fact be worth it...Lord, just give me the grace to get through the crazy, busy days.

That's about it for now.  You'll have to watch the blog closely as we'll be sure to post the news shortly after baby Grayson arrives.

34 weeks along

Yesterday we met our friend Ches at the hospital to have another ultrasound done (it pays to have connections.)  Grayson's living conditions are becoming a little tight, so it was a little challenging for Ches to get many shots of him.  She did manage to get a few profile shots of Grayson's face.    Somehow, even with the cramped living conditions, he has managed to move enough to be in the breech position.  He was head down for the longest time; I guess he was tired of being in that position.  I am just hoping & praying that he moves again into the head down position before too much time passes.

It won't be long before he arrives!  It's a bit overwhelming to think about at times, but at the same time the excitement is growing and so is the to-do list.   Jer and I spent last Saturday preparing freezer meals so we won't starve after he arrives.  I am so glad we took the time to do all that cooking (we have 12 meals and 2 types of cookie dough sitting in the deep freezer).  It will save us from having to buy fast foods.  Besides food, everything else is almost ready; the nursery needs a little TLC, but all the big stuff in the nursery is done.  Clothes are sorted and put into his dresser, crib is up, curtains are hung.  I am just waiting on the crib skirt to arrive.

That's about it.
