13 weeks

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. We spent Thanksgiving out at my parents' place. It sure was different this year as I spent most of my time feeding babies, but I enjoyed every moment.
We went tree hunting yesterday...Jer went out looking with the rest of my family while I sat in the car entertaining the twins. We had hoped to put them in the front packs but it was snowing and blowing...oh well. It was fun anyway. Christmas is going to be so fun this year with babies around. It's just beginning....!

Joshua has started to giggle - what fun! Saray is all smiles; we're still trying to find her giggle.

Enjoy the pictures! Merry Christmas!

11 and 12 weeks

Somehow last week got away from me before I had the chance to post a new blog with pictures. Life is just busy sometimes, and with two babies it's non-stop busy. Just as I would sit down to post some pictures at least, one of the babies would wake from their nap and need to eat. Plus it seems as though all last week that one of the twins was always awake while the other one slept. I mean that fine and all, it's great for one-on-one time but it also meant that things that needed to get done, like dishes and laundry got put on hold. For nearly two weeks now a huge pile of folded laundry has been sitting on my kitchen table...one of these days it will get put away...only to have another full basket of baby clothes to wash and fold. But I know that soon, way too soon, they will be grown up. So I need to worry less about the laundry piling up and the dust collecting on the picture frames. Lord remind me to treasure the moment with my babies and forget about the need for a perfectly clean house...the dishes and laundry can wait.

Speaking of babies: Joshua and Saray are doing amazingly well. They both are healthy (thank you LORD!) and growing like crazy. Saray is outgrowing her 0-3 month clothes, mostly cause of her length. She is so long and slender and yet very petite. She is so amazingly strong. When on her tummy she can lift herself on almost fully extended arms. She has started to roll over. Oh, and she is sleeping through the night! YAY!
Joshua is a solid brick, very dense. I think he outweighs Saray now; by how much, I won't know until the middle of December. He is so very close to giggling; just yesterday he made a few noises that were just shy of a giggle. Oh I LOVE IT! When he smiles, first his eyes light up and then it finds it way to his lips and the rest of his face follows. He is starting to get a hold of the idea of sleeping longer at night, he can go about 6 hours, which means we normally get up only once during the night. Not bad!
It's hard to believe that they will be 3 months old on the 29 & 30th. Amazing!

Well anyway I need to go. It's a beautiful day so my Mom, Alli, the twins and I are going on a walk. Happy Thanksgiving!

10 Weeks

This week I was a bit brave...my Mom, sisters Alesha, Ana and Alli, the twins and I took a trip to Rapid City to do some shopping. We were gone all day. Normally that wouldn't be a big deal, but it is when you have two little 10 week old babies that are nursing. I was a little worried about how they would do with all the coming and going but they did amazingly well. Joshua slept and slept, he didn't care so much about what was going on around him, he just loved the opportunity to sleep. He will sleep anywhere! Saray on the other hand was awake most of the day, including the trip to Rapid City. She didn't want to miss a thing, she was so tired but kept protesting sleep. I think she was learning how to shop for a good deal. We did a ton of shopping and we even went to Red Lobster for lunch...very, very brave.
I think the hardest thing about the day was nursing in public. I know it's legal, but the idea of nursing around strangers is difficult even if I have a cover over me and my baby. I was constantly trying to find a better place to nurse...I finally settled for a fitting room at the mall. Much better than nursing out in the open with people walking by. We automatically draw attention with two babies, that is something I don't want when I am nursing. But hey, we survived!!
Highlight of the trip to Rapid City: Running into our friends, the Church family and Jenny. I specifically prayed that I'd run into my friends...God must just love to see that smile on my face as He did it twice that day.

About the twins:
Saray is rolling from her back to her side on a regular basis now. She loves to interact with her toys with both of her hands. She is very, very smiley. She wakes up after a good nap super happy. I LOVE IT! I can't get enough of that smile of hers. Saray loves tummy time. She is lifting her head very well.
Joshua loves the bouncy seat; he is particularly fond of the little monkey that swings back and forth. He is really starting to smile with his whole face. His eyes light up now when he smiles, and sometimes he scrunches up his eyes, it's hilarious! He prefers his back over tummy time. He fights it big time. We need to work on that... He is changing and growing everyday. I love watching him learn.

I absolutely LOVE being a mommy...have I mentioned that before? Well, I do! Yes there are times when I am exhausted, but it's sooooo worth it! Thank you LORD for our double portion! You sure know how to give good gifts to your children....teach me to do the same.

Aunt Ana and Saray - we hung out and fed/changed babies in the shoe department...haha, crazy I know, but you do what you have to...

This was one of those rare Saturday mornings where we all end up in bed together....I love those mornings.

I put Joshua down after his feeding so I could feed Saray, two minutes later I find him like this - he was out like a light...

We love the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", can you tell?!

9 weeks old

This past Friday Grandma Fran arrived. It was her first time seeing the kiddos. She sure loved getting the chance to meet and love on the twins. Joshua especially loved sleeping/snuggling with Grandma Fran. We had a great time...we sure will miss Grandma Fran.
This past week, Saray has become very smiley. A few times I thought that she would just bust out laughing, not yet though. Both Joshua and Saray are starting to interact with the peacock and the giraffe toys that hang on the side of their cribs. It sure it fun to watch them grow. I LOVE being their mommy. I would not trade it for anything.

Here are some pictures from this past week...enjoy!!

P.S. If you've been keeping up with our blogs, let us know! We would love to find out who is keeping up with the twins... :)

I am getting very good at getting the kiddos out the door by myself...it only takes me nearly 2 hours to get ready...haha!
